Just like all stray dogs, Ryder dreamed of discovering true love in the arms of his humans.
It was this dream that pushed him forward as he tirelessly roamed the streets of California in search of morsels of food.
When Ryder finally got rescued and admitted to a shelter, he was extremely malnourished and exhausted.
After the shelter staff took care of him and gave him love, Ryder’s heart soared with hope that he would find a great family who would adore him.
The Pup Steals The Heart Of His Family
He changed multiple shelters until he was taken in by The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc., a rescue located in Inglewood, California.
Ryder delighted the staff with his playful and affectionate personality and they hoped that the doggo would soon capture the heart of a loving family.
However, months passed and Ryder remained at the shelter. The pup wondered whether he would ever find love and experience life outside the shelter walls.
Even after he spent two years at a shelter system, Ryder didn’t let the hope within his heart wither away.
One day, a wonderful family came to the shelter in order to adopt a kitten.
He was excited to move in with his humans whom he waited for so long. His parents doted on him and showered him with a ton of love.
Ryder was extremely appreciative of their affection and care.
Being Grateful For Finally Finding His Family
As soon as they saw Ryder and looked into his beautiful eyes, the couple fell head over heels in love with him.
“Ryder’s parents originally came to adopt a kitten. However, when they saw Ryder it was love at first sight. They took him home that same day,” The Lovejoy Foundation wrote in a Facebook post.
The pup couldn’t believe that he finally got noticed and picked out of the crowd.
He enjoyed every second of his new life, and he started forgetting his previous life.
The pup loved the comfy new bed and a blanket that his parents bought him.
When his forever mom, Michele, posted his heartwarming bedtime routine on Ryder’s TikTok account, the dog melted the hearts of his followers.
Our rescue dog who spent two years in the shelter won’t go to sleep until he’s tucked in for night-night,” a caption shared with the video says.
