The winner of one of the biggest titles of the year was revealed this morning (13 September).
Nope, not the Sports Personality, not the richest person and not the most streamed music artist but of course, the Sexiest Man Alive.
Taking the crown from PEOPLE for 2024 is actor John Krasinski and his wife, Emily Blunt, had an incredible reaction.
The Office star admitted he wasn’t quite sure what to think when he heard the news, saying he went into ‘immediate blackout’ and considered that he could be ‘being punked’.
Picked by magazine (rather than readers’ votes), he joins the likes of Chris Evans, Idris Elba and Dwayne Johnson to have taken the title over the years.

Krasinski has been married to Blunt since 2010, having started dating in 2008. They share two kids together, Hazel, 10, and Violet, eight.
And the 45-year-old said ‘there was a lot of joy involved’ when it came to telling his wife, who was ‘very excited’ herself.
Although, Blunt did say she would be printing off his ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ magazine cover and use it as wallpaper in their home if he got the coveted title.
“Do we have that on camera? Because that’s like a binding contract, I think,” Krasinski said. “My children will love that, it won’t be weird at all.”
The IF actor went on to talk about his happy marriage to the Devil Wears Prada star.
“It’s that beautiful thing where when you’re married to someone, you’re constantly learning and changing and evolving,” he said. “And I’m so lucky to go through all that with her.”

Plus, it doesn’t sound like his Sexiest Man Alive title is going to change much at home, in fact, it might make Blunt’s expectations of him even higher.
“I think it’s going to make me do more household chores,” Krasinski joked. “After this comes out, she’ll be like, ‘All right, that means you’re going to really earn it here at home.’”
You’ve got to wonder if this big old (and a little bizarre) title will settle in for the star as he recalled his own reaction: “That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys [PEOPLE] have really raised the bar for me.”

Emily Blunt once said that she had ‘absolutely’ wanted to throw up after kissing one of her co-stars as part of a performance.
As an actor, it’s all part of the job to sometimes lock lips with a co-star for the sake of fictional drama and romance.
Of course most of the audience knows it’s all a bit of playing pretend but it can be hard not to get drawn into the story.
However, sometimes the truth behind the scenes is a little more nauseating as when Blunt made an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, she admitted there were times when she felt sick kissing one of her colleagues.
Before you get ahead of yourself, she didn’t name whichever co-star it was that she lacked the romantic chemistry with to make kissing for a scene bearable.

In defence of whomever this poor soul is, it was show host Howard Stern who first asked Blunt whether she ever wanted to ‘throw up’ after a kissing scene.
She said: “Absolutely, absolutely.
“I wouldn’t say it’s sort of extreme loathing, but I’ve definitely not enjoyed some of it.”
As for chemistry between Blunt and her co-stars, elsewhere in the interview, she said it’s not always about liking the person she was acting alongside.
The Edge of Tomorrow star said she’d ‘had chemistry with people I haven’t liked at all’, and that developing a spark with a colleague was ‘sometimes a strange thing’.
“Sometimes you can really, really like someone, and you can be pals, and you can have a rapport that’s really effortless, but it doesn’t translate onscreen,” she explained, lest we think that this nauseous kiss came from a place of dislike.

What it takes to score chemistry between two stars was difficult for the Oppenheimer star to describe, saying it was an ‘ethereal thing that you can’t really bottle up and buy or sell’.
She’s not the only one to open up on how it’s sometimes not as fun as it looks to be kissing co-stars.
Kate Winslet said that during the filming of Titanic things went a bit unpleasant during a kissing scene with Leonardo DiCaprio because of all the makeup they had on.
She said: “We kept doing this kiss, and I’ve got a lot of pale makeup on and I would have to do our makeup checks — on both of us, between takes — and I would end up looking as though I’d been sucking a caramel chocolate bar after each take because his makeup would come off on me.”
Not quite as romantic as the film made it look, really.

If you’ve ever watched Emily Blunt show off her acting prowess on screen, you’d never have guessed that she grew up with a stutter.
The British star, 40, has openly discussed her struggle with the speech disorder, describing it as like ‘an imposter living in your body – who doesn’t pay rent’.
Take a look here:
She has been a voice for other sufferers across the world and regularly uses her huge platform to shine a light on the topic, as she is all too aware of how it can impede someone’s everyday life.
Blunt said in 2018 that she was ‘grateful’ to publicise the ‘disability that lives very often in the shadows alongside its friends: fear and shame and humiliation’.
Although her breakout role in in The Devil Wears Prada in 2006 saw her star as hoity-toity assistant Emily Charlton, the actress had gone through childhood lacking a lot of the confidence that her character had.
She previously explained: “I was a smart kid, and had a lot to say, but I just couldn’t say it. It would just haunt me.
“My parents took me to speech coaches and relaxation coaches. It didn’t work.”
Blunt was reluctant to follow in her mother’s footsteps and join the entertainment world due to her stutter – but it was actually acting that helped to remedy her speech issue.

The Oppenheimer star said: “Then one of my teachers at school had a brilliant idea and said, ‘Why don’t you speak in an accent in our school play?’
“I distanced myself from me through this character, and it was so freeing that my stuttering stopped when I was onstage. It was really a miracle.”
Ed Sheeran famously revealed that Eminem‘s third album The Marshall Mathers LP helped to ‘cure’ his stutter – so Blunt’s story isn’t the strangest solution so far.
But not everyone manages to leave their stutter behind when transitioning through their teenage years, which is why the actress is on a mission to make a movie about a person who suffers with the speech issue.
She believes a stuttering protagonist would help ‘destigmatise’ the speech impediment and allow more people to understand the complexities that come with it.
Blunt told BBC Radio Four’s Woman’s Hour: “The emotional trauma of living with the inability to speak will limit you in ways, that are for someone who speaks fluently, pretty unimaginable. There’s so much shame about it.

“There’s so much shame about it because there’s not enough information, it’s neurological. People really deem it psychological. So you’re sort of deemed off-putting or unconvincing in order to get a job, or anything like that.”
Neurological conditions affect the brain, spinal cord or nerves, wheres psychological conditions affect your mental state.
The Girl on the Train actress continued: “So as long as we can keep destigmatising it, then there won’t be so much shame – it can just be more acceptable – because I think it is one trait that is easily bullied still.”
Blunt proudly added that she will ‘always be a stutterer’ and admits she ‘flip-flops words around to substitute ones that are easier to say’.
“Certain environments will still create a struggle for me – if someone asks me to pitch them anything it’s a nightmare, she added.
“But I did sort of grow out of it.”

Emily Blunt has opened up about the rough times she put her Oppenheimer co-star Cillian Murphy through both on and off-camera.
The 40-year-old star has been nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role of Kitty Oppenheimer – the wife of Murphy’s character J Robert Oppenheimer.
Alongside Blunt’s nomination, Oppenheimer is in the running for a slew of Oscars, including the coveted Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. and Best Actor for Murphy.
And it seems Murphy was more than happy to suffer for his art, with Blunt recently telling the Sun that she slapped him about the face so much his cheekbone took a bit of a battering.
Apologising to her co-star, she told the publication: “Sorry about your cheekbone Cillian.
“Poor Cillian. Chris went, ‘Hit him’. And I was like, ‘I don’t know’.
Universal Pictures
“And Cillian was like, ‘Do it, do it’. Chris was like, ‘He’ll be fine . . . do it’.
“I slapped him then I grabbed him, by the neck really, by the collar.
“I just saw over the course of, like, ten takes that very famous cheekbone became even more prominent — and it’s not even in the movie.”
Ouch.
And that’s not even the worst of it – Blunt went on to explain that she decided to buy her co-star a thoughtful gift ahead of filming, but that good deed soon went badly wrong, requiring poor Murphy to have his ‘glued’ back together. Not ideal, eh?
Revealing she decided to buy him a ‘fantastic’ pillow, she went on: “He’s going to kill me for telling this story.
“I was very concerned about Cillian’s sleep when we started shooting because I felt he had a monumental undertaking with this role.
Universal Pictures
“I thought, like, that’s a good start-of-shoot gift.
“He told me he woke up in the middle of the night and he was so thrilled to fluff himself back to sleep on the pillow, that he sort of threw his head down back on to it and smashed his head open on the bedside table.
“He was luxuriating in it so much he smashed his head open.
“So he came to set and they had to glue his head shut, all because of the pillow.”
And if all that wasn’t bad enough, she also touched upon a parting gift Murphy gave her of a bottle she ‘almost killed him with’ during filming of another particularly violent scene.
Murphy has certainly earned himself this Oscar nomination, hasn’t he?

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston had a brilliant reaction after they were left taken aback by a reporter at a premiere many years ago.
Back in 2011, Aniston and Sandler were appearing at the Just Go With It premiere, celebrating their new movie.
The rom-com starred Sandler as a plastic surgeon who ends up convincing his assistant (Aniston) to pose as his ex-wife in order to cover up a lie.

During the pair’s appearance on the red carpet, they ended up chatting to reporter Brad Blanks, who started asking them questions about the movie and how they worked together.
Other journalists also began interjecting and asking questions, but just as Aniston was about to answer, she becomes distracted and seems to be looking at Blanks in confusion.
After hesitating for a few seconds, the Friends star inevitably had to ask: “Why are you crouching?”
Blanks had been crouching down the whole time, but you wouldn’t have known, because he appeared to be the same height as the other reporters.
The interviewer explained that he was ‘such a big guy’ and would be blocking the camera from focusing on the celebrities if he stood up to his full height.
Now, it’s worth mentioning at this point that Blanks is 6’5”, which neither Sandler or Aniston were expecting.
The shock on their faces was pretty hilarious, with Sandler screaming ‘OH MY GOD THAT’S AWFUL’ when Blanks stood up from his crouching position.
Aniston meanwhile went wide-eyed in surprise and shouted ‘that’s enormous’, while Sandler pointed towards a canopy above their heads and joked that the interviewer should ‘put your hat on and get out of here’.
Blanks apologised for giving Aniston a scare, while her co-star playfully quipped ‘don’t ever do that to Aniston’ at the interviewer.

The pair then moved on further down the red carpet, but the moment has always remained iconic for fans.
“Haha! Her eyes when he stands up. That’s funny. I love Jennifer Aniston,” one person wrote.
While another said: “This is still one of my favourites of yours, Brad.”
And a third added: “I love Adam Sandler! His voice and personality is so funny!”
And a fourth commented: “I like when Jen said that was great… like it was a skit lolol… I laughed so much at this reaction.”
Another called them their ‘favourite duo’ adding: “You always gotta laugh when you hear Adam Sandler speaking, he’s just a walking jokes… Adam & Jennifer are my favourite duo.”
