Words can’t describe how helpless and sad Gertrude felt on the day she was abandoned.
Trapped in a crate and dumped in a parking lot, she couldn’t escape and seek help
All that Gertrude could do was wait and hope that a good soul would extend her the kindness that she needed more than ever before.
Fortunately, someone noticed the abandoned dog and decided to make sure she was safe.
They called the Animal Protection & Control team who rushed to her aid right away.

The team fed Gertrude right away. She was starving and she munched her food as fast as she could.
After finishing her meal, the pup smiled at her rescuers, wishing to thank them for their kindness.
The officers scooped her up and brought her to NOCO Humane, a shelter in Loveland, Colorado.
The shelter’s vet team examined Gertrude and gave her medication to treat her demodex mange.
The pup was sweet toward her vets. She melted with affection and gratitude while she was looking at them.
Since she was severely underweight, Gertrude was put on a feeding program.
Following weeks of care, the adorable pup started recovering.

The shelter staff had no other choice but to put her in quarantine during her treatment.
he pup rejoiced every time her caregivers visited her in order to feed her and give her medicine.
Little by little, Gertrude’s condition started improving.
